Data Scientist (Machine Learning, Python)

As the Data Scientist you'll apply data science and machine learning techniques to multivariate time series or sequential prediction problems. As the Data Scientist you'll run rigorous experiments to evaluate & explain new features, datasets & models. They like entrepreneurial people who can bring their own opinions, experience & research to the table.

You'll work with engineers to put research models & pipelines into a production-ready consumer product ecosystem and B2B SaaS platform whilst playing a central role in the planning, growth and leadership of a full data science function.

As the Data Scientist you'll collaborate with engineers to build, enhance and lead in the creation of an in-house data science libraries & pipelines. These APIs & tools are essential for the future of the business & you’ll have tremendous input into the way they are designed at this early stage.

Their primary technology stack:

  • Data Science - Python (Anaconda/Jupyter, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, StatsModels, NLTK, GmPlot, GeoPy, PyMongo, Psycopg2), Cloud Computing on AWS
  • Ops stack - AWS, Docker, Beanstalk for running containers, S3 with CloudFront to serve react.js web apps, SQS for messaging, CloudWatch and New Relic for monitoring, CircleCI for CI / CD, Fastlane to deploy mobile app, Testflight to test iOS app, Test fairy for general mobile testing.
  • Front-end stack - React.js (web apps), React Native (mobile apps - iOS, Android)
  • Back-end stack - Node.js, PostgreSQL, Golang

Data Scientist Responsibilities:

  • Run rigorous experiments to evaluate & explain new features, datasets & models. 
  • Work with engineers to put research models & pipelines into a production-ready consumer product ecosystem and B2B SaaS platform.
  • Play a central role in the planning, growth and leadership of a full data science function within our team.
  • Collaborate with other data scientists and engineers to build, enhance and lead in the creation of an in-house data science libraries & pipelines. These APIs & tools are essential for the future of the business & you’ll have tremendous input into the way they are designed at this early stage.
  • You will not hesitate from rolling your sleeves and jump head-on into the pools of raw data created by our users in both declared and observed form.
