DevOps Engineer - Python / Groovy, Shell Scripting

London, City of London - Greater London


£70,000 - £80,000 per annum



As the DevOps Engineer you'll work with market participants, intermediaries, regulators and governments to develop and implement innovative solutions that transform their business. From advising on strategic initiatives to integrating advanced technologies into trading environments, they help firms optimize how they initiate and leverage the solutions and processes that run their front, middle and back offices.

DevOps Engineer required skills: 

  • DevOps Engineer with a Development background
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Shell Scripting and in one or more of the open source scripting languages Groovy and Python.
  • Hands on skills and project experience with Automated package delivery tools - one or more of Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
  • Good understanding of Jenkins 
  • Hands on skills and project experience with the following application build tools - Npm or Gulp AND Maven or Gradle
  • Working knowledge of Junit and/or Jasmine non-functional, functional and unit test frameworks and tools.
  • Working knowledge of Tomcat and Websphere application servers and java containers
  • Basic infrastructure knowledge - Operating Systems, VM’s, Containers, Proxy, Nginx

Being part of DevOps, you must be able to adjust to constant business change; common types of changes include new requirements, evolving goals and strategies, and emerging technologies. As the DevOps Engineer, you'll need the ability to interact, develop, engineer, and communicate collaboratively at the highest technical levels with clients, vendors, partners, and all levels of internal staff.

As the DevOps Engineer you'll work in an agile development process, responsible for the design and implementation of applications build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. As the DevOps Engineer your other responsibilities include working with internal and business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, architecting, implementing/updating solutions, building and executing test plans, performing quality reviews, managing operations, and triaging and fixing operational issues.
