Software QA Engineer

My client in The City of London are looking for a Software QA Engineer to lead the technical test team and be responsible for ensuring the release and delivery of high-quality software. In this role, the candidate is expected to use his/her experience and expertise to develop test plans, find bugs, perform automated testing, participate in product design, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Technical lead for test team
  • Lead for performance and stress testing
  • Participate in design of software and tools, collaborate with teams
  • Find, document, and track bugs
  • Suggest features and improvements
  • Drive performance and reliability enhancements
  • Participate in troubleshooting and provide customer support as needed
  • Define and review the processes, procedures and quality objectives
  • Design and implement automated testing of software products
  • Design, implement and maintain automated testing infrastructure

Skills and Requirements of the Software QA Engineer:

  • Ability to write test strategy based on product
  • Write/capture test scenarios and cases
  • Defining test processes
  • Locating and fixing bugs
  • Test Case Design/ strategy
  • QA Lead
  • Scripting languages
  • Good in support automation
  • Stellar communication/ collaboration
  • Testing for s/w productand on mobile
  • Distributed computing
  • test automation knowledge/expertise
  • Managing small test teams
  • Managing multiple projects at one time
  • Proven experience in non-functional testing/strategy

Experience of the Software QA Engineer:

If your experience with pure software products For B2B in a small or medium size computer software product company this will be a fit. You need experience with testing/QA products which are mobile/SAAS/on premise software.

In addition at Least 3 Years of experience and knowledge of:

  • Defining and executing test processes
  • Regression and integration testing
  • Locating and supporting fixing bugs
  • Impact assessments
  • Support for release planning
  • Test strategy
  • Test Case Design
  • Scripting languages
  • Outstanding collaboration and resourcefulness
  • Industrious mind set

Practical Requirements:

  • Ability to be highly dependable and confidential as working with sensitive and critical data
  • Sprints or holiday cover may require some weekend work
  • Guide teams

Candidates must be able to work in said location. No sponsorship is available. SaaS experience is essential.
