  • Tell me a bit about your own career trajectory and how you got to where you are today?

“My working life started in sales for Frost and Sullivan, but I swiftly moved into a junior role in a technology recruitment company, MSB (now Networkers).  I found that I had a natural aptitude for recruiting, based on being good at talking to people, and drawing out from both candidates and clients what they wanted and needed and ended up with a strong base of IT contractors, specialising in Oracle technologies.

“During my time with MSB, my position evolved into client services oriented role and I ran large-scale managed service programmes, including overseeing the placement of 600 contractors with Unisys, which ultimately increased to over 1,000 across a variety of their brands.  This is also where I first worked with Steve Goodman.

“Finally, before reuniting with Steve at Digitech, I spent a number of years at Experis.  I managed some of the larger accounts there, including Infosys, and then went on-site at Betfair for 18 months to try an in-house role as part of a managed service programme.

“I have been with Digitech for just over two years.”

  • What made you want to work at Digitech?

“I liked the idea of working for a growing business and going back to the basic, most important part of recruitment – to deliver talent by working in a narrow area and build a quality, strong brand based on hard-work and focus.

“Our business turnover reflects the ethos of specialism in the digital arena, and strong sector knowledge. It also helps that the top team know and understand each other well, having previously worked together in other, successful recruitment businesses.”

  • What do you think Digitech does that sets it apart from its other competitors?

“We are truly a delivery-focused business and fiercely competitive. This comes from the top of the business and is part of our DNA. We want to provide a great quality service and also ensure that candidates know we are the first call for the best jobs and for our clients to use us time and again. We’re doing well.”

  • Give me an example of a really great project/great outcome you have worked on

“I have been really proud of setting up our London office. It was my baby, and it has now been established for just over a year now.

“I have been able to attract key talent and this has enabled me to build out some of our service lines to bridge the gap between professional services and recruitment. This will prove valuable as the business evolves and so does the recruitment industry.”
