Business Analyst - Marketing Technology 

Role Summary - Business Analyst - Marketing Technology 

To develop and improve the marketing technology for commercial advantage, compliance with data regulation and improved business insight.

The job holder will be a marketing technologist and will elicit business requirements from colleagues around the business, capture and implement resulting systems and system changes. Acting as an internal consultant document requirements and systems.

Consider in all cases data compliance and information security escalating to the Data Protection Officer and Information Security Manager where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities - Business Analyst - Marketing Technology 

  • To be the main focus and escalation point for marketing technology
  • To manage the marketing technology and ensure it remains relevant and continues to meet business needs
  • Manage day to day relationships with marketing technology suppliers
  • Ensure all supplier development work is high quality and cost effective
  • Monitor and report on service level agreements addressing performance with service providers where necessary.
  • Carry out business analysis for existing and planned marketing technology requirements
  • Perform QA function to ensure development requirements are delivered
  • Ensure the marketing technology portfolio is managed efficiency working with the Technology Assurance Group to remove duplication
  • Carry out data management work including data analysis
  • Working with the Head of Procurement to ensure efficient partner and supplier management
  • Work with the Information Security Manager to ensure marketing technology is secure
  • Work with the Data Protection Officer to ensure our marketing processes comply with GDPR regulations
  • Work with the Technology Advisory Group in the selection of data software, solutions or technology services
  • Create and update marketing technology documentation

Skills/knowledge - Business Analyst - Marketing Technology 

  • Knowledge of the current marketing technology marketplace
  • Database management skills including ETL
  • Knowledge of data interchange formats such as JSON and XML
  • Understanding of systems and databases
  • Strong organisational skills to multi-task and deal with many ongoing projects
  • Highly organised and methodical with an eye for detail
  • Understanding of legal and company regulations and standards.

Experience - Business Analyst - Marketing Technology 

  • At least 5 years’ experience working with marketing technology
  • Experience of working within an environment run according to highly structured procedures
  • Experience of managing personal data in accordance to data protection legislation
  • Previous marketing technology role and experience with technically complex and diverse environments
