Head of Development/Tech Lead-Java8/Spring/Agile -90k-110k +Bonus

Leading E-commerce SW House, with a start-up feel, based in close proximity to Kings Cross, require a permanent “hands on” Java Head of Development/Tech Lead, who will report to the CTO, and help manage and build the internal Java development team.

The E-commerce SW house, are well known in the UK and technology is key to their business so the successful Head of Development/Tech Lead will need to be responsible for leading a team that deliver quality, ensuring that releases are delivered on time, scope and agreed SLA's. The successful candidate will have extremely strong leadership skills and be able to inspire team members to consistently work at their best as well as the ability to create architectures and develop technical & operational roadmaps in support of business strategy.

This role will also include leading and growing a team of Java developers who will be using leading open source tools/frameworks including Java8, Spring Boot, Spring, Hibernate/JPA, Maven, AngularJS, AWS, Microservices, Jenkins etc etc. The role will be "HANDS-ON" with java development, and you will need to bring the necessary level of discipline, governance and structure to the dev operation. You will also need to have an understanding of DevOps and QA as you will be working closely with these teams too. There is roughly around 30-35 members in the team.

Key responsibilities include

- Recruitment, planning & tracking the development budget and resource planning

- Own the relationships with the Software Dev

- Man manage and build a team and know how to motivate them

- Champion best practises in Software design/architecture and delivery and embracing continuous improvement

-Previous ecommerce experience
