Our client is a new venture in the pet wellbeing space, created to address the ever-growing need for better, more personalised guidance and trusted advice around pet care to ultimately improve pet health and quality of life. The purpose is to positively impact pet wellbeing, to make looking after your pet easy, fun, and rewarding – leading to happier and healthier pets.

 

Our client was established in partnership with a multi award winning pet insurer which is one of the UK’s largest pet insurance providers. They offer cover for dogs, cats and horses covering over 1 million pets nationwide.

 

The MVP app was successfully launched to a small cohort of customers in March ’22 using a software development agency. Since then, the app has matured and grown in features with over a thousand downlands. On both IOS and Android, the official go-live was in October ‘22 where our client started the launch rollout to hundreds of thousands of customers.

 

Our client is looking to bring its technology capability inhouse over a period of 6 months, working alongside the software development agency in a hybrid team made up of our clients and the agencies developers. The successful candidate will form part of the new team as we transition over.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for everything under the Technology function, reporting into the COO.

 

We are looking for a technology leader that can operate over the full stack with hands on coding. This successful candidate will be fully responsible for the future tech environment and technical stack, ensuring the four S’s, Security, Stability, Scalability and Speed to Market. Over time as the technology department is being setup you can expect the day-to-day coding to decrease whilst other departmental and team duties increase. However, we are an outcome driven organisation and once the department is setup, how much or how little you code will be up to you.
